Tomorrow is not only Pi Day (3.14…get it ?? ), but it’s also the troop’s big Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. Here’s more information from Mrs. Syvertsen:

It is that time of year again, when Troop 45 holds its two biggest fundraisers. Please reserve Saturday March 14th 2015 for the Spaghetti Dinner.

Each scout is strongly encouraged to participate, parents are welcomed too. Many hands make light work.

There will be a sign up sheet available at the Court on Honor. Set up starts at 3pm and Dinner service is from 5 to 7:30pm, with clean up following.

Also we need to celebrity news have store bought deserts (due to Health code) donated, Cakes, Pies or Brownies.

Please spread the word to families and friends to join us.

We’ll need everyone pitching in to make tomorrow’s fundraiser a success — and those funds are used all year round to support troop activities — so hope to see you there!

Reminder: Wednesday Troop Meeting is Cook-Off

Hi Troop.

There is some confusion about next week’s meeting. Even though it is Regents Week for high school students,  we are still having a meeting, which is the Cook-Off. Shopping needs to be scheduled for over the weekend or Monday or Tuesday night.  Once again, we have a normal time, normal place troop meeting next week.  Remember to bring your food and money if you have not already chipped into the Patrol cost.

Reminder: Patrol Leaders Council Meeting Tonight – 7pm, Sunday, Jan. 18

Hi Troop —  As I noted at our past meeting, we will be having a PLC Sunday 1/18 at the church in our normal meeting room. The meeting starts right at 7 and will end right at 7:45. Please be prompt so you don’t miss anything important. We will be planning for the month of February and for the Klondike. If you are a leader, you need to attend, as it is your duty as a leader to help plan. If you are unable to make the meeting, please let me know ASAP.

Scouts Help Regional Food Bank

IMG_1826Pictures have been posted from the troop’s January 10th visit to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham (check out the Photo Galleries section of our website or click on the picture on the right).

About two dozen scouts and adults helped pack pet supplies and bottled water in the food bank’s warehouse. Not only did it give everyone a good feeling to give service back to our community, but we learned how important these services are helping people in need all over the area and how critical volunteers are to getting their work done.

The Regional Food Bank provides emergency food assistance to approximately 244,400 different people in our community each year – including 85,000 children and 13,000 seniors.  In a given week, approximately 38,600 people receive emergency food assistance from the 1,000+ member agencies in the Regional Food Bank’s 23-county service area.
